Plants have long been used for their many healing properties.  Many studies have even been conducted as to the healing benefits of many of the herbs that can be found on the shelves today.  Here are three great herbs to help boost your energy when you need it and to help you sleep.

Rhodiola

Rhodiola is a great hearty plant that grows in the colder climates and has many health benefits. Known to induce relaxation the Chinese have been using it for generations to reduce stress and fight depression during cold winter months. Rhodiola has also been shown to increase metabolism and to stimulate blood and oxygen in the body. This is why it is a common energy enhancer for professional athletes. Several studies have also shown that rhodiola can help anxiety, chronic fatigue, and mental fogginess.   Due to its stimulating nature it is best to start this herb in the morning and with smaller doses.

 

Panax Ginseng:

This plant has earned an almost magical status for promoting health, prolong life, general wellbeing, and for treating fatigue, aging, inflammation, nausea, vomiting, stress, and ulcers to name just a few. Ginseng appears to relieve stress, increase sexual activity, help insomnia, and even counter the side effects of chemotherapy. This is an all over great herb to aid to your home pharmacy to boost energy and so much more. When purchasing Ginseng make sure to get a quality brand that will render good results.

 

Ashwaghanda:

this adaptogenic has the ability to reduce stress, improve thyroid fundtion, and treat adrenal fatigue. It’s a great choice if you are having trouble sleeping at night and have low energy during the day. It you are getting over a cold or are prone to colds it is also good to help boost the immune system, hence it’s nickname “strength of the stallion”. It’s makes a delicious tea before going to bed in almond milk with a little honey and cardamom.
