What happens on your first visit?
We will send you an online questionnaire and consent form via email, which should take about 5 minutes to complete. During your first appointment, your practitioner will conduct a consultation with you, review your intake forms, and ask you detailed questions about your health concerns. Additionally, we will use Chinese medicine diagnostic tools to examine your tongue and analyze your pulse.
what is the cost of your services?
Our acupuncture sessions are priced at $85, making it possible for everyone to receive regular acupuncture and benefit from high-quality practitioner care. Please note that we do offer a sliding scale of $65-85 to those in financial need.
CranioSacral and Sports Medicine sessions are $120. Herbal consultations are $55, plus the cost of herbs or supplements. Functional Medicine appointments are $350, and follow-up appointments are $120.
How often will i have to come in for acupuncture before i see results?
Our patients generally visit us on a weekly basis, but the frequency of your treatment will depend on your unique situation and the treatment plan crafted by your practitioner. The response to treatment varies from person to person, so the results you experience will depend on your specific needs. Some issues can be resolved in just a few visits, while others may require more treatments to achieve your desired outcome. Your practitioner will be able to provide guidance on the results you can expect to see. Although relief from certain symptoms may be noticed immediately, it may take longer to address the underlying issue.
Can I see the same practitioner for every treatment?
Certainly! If it suits your schedule better, you have the option of seeing a different practitioner each week. The Hummingbird Wellness team works collaboratively and any practitioner you consult will be well-informed about your case by accessing your chart. This allows them to provide you with consistent care.
What results should i expect?
Every individual reacts differently to treatment. While some people may feel the changes immediately, others may take a few treatments before they can notice any difference. After your treatment, you may feel either relaxed or energized, and the full effects of the treatment will become evident a day or two after your appointment. Like any other modality, it is essential to come in for a series of treatments to receive the complete benefits of your treatments.
is acupuncture painful?
During the acupuncture treatment, you may feel a slight pinching sensation as the needles are inserted. Our practitioners are highly trained to ensure painless needle insertion, and we take pride in this. As the needle is inserted to the proper depth, you may feel a sensation of distension. While your body is balancing, you may experience some unusual sensations such as cool or warm sensations, tingling, or buzzing, but none of these should be painful. If a needle feels uncomfortable, please let your practitioner know immediately, and they will adjust it so that you can relax and enjoy the benefits of your treatment. Acupuncture is a very relaxing experience, and many patients even fall asleep during their sessions.
how do i cancel or reschedule my appointment?
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, contact us as soon as possible either by phone or by email at [email protected]. Please note that we have a 24-hour cancellation policy, which means that any changes made within 24 hours of the scheduled treatment time will result in a fee.
