Community Acupuncture Clinic Practitioners

Samhitta Jones L. Ac., a Diplomate in Chinese Medicine, graduated from the Colorado School of Chinese Medicine 1998. Samhitta is in private practice in acupuncture since 1998, massage and CranioSacral therapy since 1994. She is nationally certified in massage and CranioSacral therapy.
Samhitta studied nutrition and food preparation in Germany from 1975 to 1978. She co-owned the International Vegetarian Restaurant in Cologne, Germany for six years which was known for its nutritious, healthy, and delicious food. Samhitta lived and traveled in Asia for eight years continuing her studies in nutrition, as well as training in meditation, massage and CranioSacral therapy.
After graduating from Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1998, Samhitta went to India to open a walk in clinic similar to the Community Acupuncture Clinic. She found that working in this type of clinical environment was effective, fun, low cost for patients and very popular. Coming back to the United States, Samhitta had a vision to provide this kind of affordable care.
In September 2004 Samhitta co-founded Community Acupuncture Clinic with Mary Saunders. Her practice of Chinese medicine at Community Acupuncture Clinic includes cupping, gua-sha, needling, tuina, moxibustion, auricular therapy, and massage. She prescribes Chinese herbs, and provides lifestyle, nutritional, and dietary counseling.

Mary Saunders, L. Ac., has been a practitioner of acupuncture and Oriental medicine for the last 20 years. She received an undergraduate degree from Austin College in 1978 with an emphasis in psychology and Spanish language. Mary is fluent in Spanish and spent five years as a teacher and translator in Spain prior to entering her formal training at Southwest Acupuncture College. Graduating in 1986 she has since maintained an acupuncture practice treating a wide variety of health concerns, including stress, fatigue, digestive and hormonal imbalances. Mary is a Diplomate in Acupuncture (NCCAOM), a Licensed Acupuncturist in Colorado, and is trained in the Hakomi method of body-centered psychotherapy. She is the co-founder of the Community Acupuncture Clinic.
Ms. Saunders uses a variety of Oriental medical techniques that promote self-healing, including gentle needling, abdominal massage, and cupping. Mary brings a lifelong interest in nutrition to her patients with simple and effective programs that reduce dietary and metabolic stress. Chinese herbal medicines may be recommended to complete each patient’s care.
